The Philadelphia Community Bail Fund is doing an urgent fundraiser to raise $3,000 to bring Luz home from jail and pay for safe housing to quarantine. Luz is an Afro-Latinx woman who came to Philadelphia via Puerto Rico, she is a leader in her community with a big heart and a big love for God. She has been in jail for 3 months and has a $2,000 bail holding her ransom. Luz has multiple underlying health conditions including asthma, a heart condition, and a liver condition, and she is at extremely high risk for severe illness and death if she remains in the Philly jails now that there are confirmed cases of COVID-19. The Philly courts are moving way too slow, and she does not have time to wait - her life is on the line.
